Your pumpkin awaits
The annual pumpkin festival at Adriers comes round again, once more on a lovely sunny autumn day.
This year craft stalls included handmade felt bags, homemade chutneys, enamel paintings and beaded jewellery. And just a few pumpkins...
Replacing the trees
Long long ago when we had to cut down the trees to make way for the new house, we promised we'd replace them with new ones. On 12th October, 18 months after the hornbeam and the five poplars hit the deck, we started by planting two spindly saplings - a silk tree (aka Albizia) and a liquidambar.
A new pear tree also went in, extending our little orchard up near the road.
Be happy, trees.
Using more of the woodyard offcuts, we made up some edgings for the vegetable plot, bashing the posts screwed to the back of theplanks into the earth to hold them in place. These are to separate veggie plot earth from the grass that'll soon be sown.
