Living and Building a home in the heart of France
5th August 2006
The many fields of sunflowers lift the spirit.
In our own patch, the courgette, squash and pumpkin plants are prolific. This giant pumpkin measures 1.38 metres in girth, and is still growing.
I cook 'em, I freeze 'em, I give 'em away, but we're still overflowing with lettuces, courgettes, patty-pans and cucumbers.
This year's walnuts are swelling happily
We've plenty of tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and basil too. And lovely pink new potatoes - all fresh, organic and delicious.
Unfortunately the grass and weeds grow just as well... mowing is a 2-hour task even with the swish machinery.
